ALZSocial for Young Caregivers

There is a growing number of young caregivers (Ages 15 – 39) globally – individuals who have a family member with dementia as a result of the rise in young-onset cases or those with a grandparent diagnosed with dementia.

Young caregivers are often left to deal with the stigma that the illness carries. They feel isolated because their peers do not understand what they are going through and they carry the guilt when they have to choose between growing up and find their ‘self’ vs. having to shoulder the responsibilities of caring for their loved one.

Are you a Young Caregiver ?

Caring for a loved one can take significant toll on your health. You may eventually withdraw from friends and social activities and soon find yourself feeling exhausted, depressed and alone in your journey. It is important that you take time to talk to someone about the ups and downs of caring for your loved one.

ALZSocial is the place for you to identify and connect with a community that understands. Join the chat group on Slack.
